When I won the Team USA Trials in 1985, PBA Hall of Famer Barry Asher finished second, adding to the thrill of that accomplishment.
When I mentioned to Asher that making Team USA might delay me getting my PBA card and going on the PBA Tour as I had planned, he said something I have never forgotten:
