As I wrote after E.J. Tackett led qualifying, when he was voted 2025 PBA Player of the Year, Tackett joined a select group of players who have won three straight POY crowns. Earl Anthony did it twice in 1974-76 and 1981-83, Mark Roth did it in 1977-79, Walter Ray Williams Jr. 1996-98, and Jason Belmonte 2013-15.
